Graham Cartledge CBE
Chairman

Graham is the Chairman of the Benoy Group.

Graham has over 40 years’ experience in architecture, design and business management having joined Benoy in 1974 and operated as Chairman since 1992. Under his stewardship and global vision, the Benoy brand has experienced phenomenal international growth and is recognised as a multi-award winning business.

Vice-Chairman of the China Britain Business Council, he is also an Advisor to the UK India Business Council and sits on the Advisory Panel of the UK-ASEAN Business Council. Graham is Founder and Chairman of charitable trust the Benoy Foundation.

Tom Cartledge
Chief Executive Officer

Tom is CEO of the Benoy Group and is responsible for the management of the Group’s capital investments and the Benoy brand.

Tom joined Benoy in 2013, previously serving as COO before being appointed CEO in July 2016. He brings with him extensive experience as a director and a proven ability to deliver commercial solutions across a variety of sectors from retail to real estate.

Tom has been integral to the evolution of the Benoy Group, extending the company’s portfolio in terms of sectors, services and global reach. Under his direction, Tom is driving the Group’s vision to become a multi-boutique design leader.

Having participated in a number of high profile Government business delegations, Tom is acknowledged as an advocate of international trade and is proud that Benoy Group continues to flourish as an exporter of British design expertise.

A qualified Chartered Surveyor, Tom started his career at Cushman & Wakefield and Dalgleish (now CBRE) before moving to global retailer TJX where he was responsible for Property and Strategy.

Penny Illston
Global People Director

Penny is the Global People Director. She leads the Group’s talent and people agenda.

As a qualified Executive Coach and member of the global board, Penny has been instrumental in leading the transformation of the Group’s business objectives, its strategic development, and its operational alignment, ensuring a seamless partnering between business units to enable growth and development.

Penny has helped to deliver innovative programme design, operational change, and process improvement efforts, delivering better results for people and the business overall. Her diverse experience helps to ensure that people are an integral part of the fabric of the Benoy Group.

Penny has previously served on global and UK board-level roles in P&O, Kingfisher and TJX. She holds a BA in Business from the University of Brighton and Masters in Organisation Development from Loyola University, Chicago. She also serves as Deputy Chair for the School of Governors for Notting Hill and Ealing High School GDST and is an Ambassador for the charity Kid’s Out.

Carolyn Pears
Global Finance Director

Carolyn is Global Finance Director of the Benoy Group and responsible for the Group’s overall financial and risk positions as well as accounting, tax, treasury and certain portfolio matters.

Carolyn joined Benoy in 2007. She has built up a global team that contributes to delivering significant growth for the business and has helped to expand the company internationally. Her leadership in the establishment of a network of overseas studios has allowed the company to trade successfully in key markets around the world.

A fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Carolyn was the Chief Accountant at Games Workshop Plc prior to joining Benoy. Carolyn is a member of the global board.
